All signs are pointing to the PS4 being a beast.
Looks awful
The amount of money they were losing for one. That was a disaster that Sony has yet to recover from.
Until MS announces this is all fanboy drivel
Sony bounced back because of fantastic management, namely Kaz. He was able to balance on that line between affordability and profitability (although they lost buckets of money in the beginning the PS3 became profitable under his watch) until the first parties ramped up. Once the first Uncharted released the momentum really picked up. I give Kaz nearly all of the credit and it was a good choice to make him the CEO. Hopefully he can get the rest of Sony to fall in line.
I think you're dismissing the job that Kaz did in turning the fortunes of the PS3 around. It's launch was a disaster.
Maybe a bit too early to declare "bomb" but it's not off to a good start. The point of the article is that Sony themselves aren't supporting it behind the scenes or with PR and those two things are worrisome.
They have so much quality content between games, movies and music. Tie that in with all of the hardware they make and it's baffling that they haven't taken advantage of that yet.
Stop making excuses. If Sony believed in the platform they would give it proper support. That or the company is just terribly managed.
If it was one or two games I think that The Old Republic would have to be listed, huge money pit.
It probably had more to do with the abysmal performance of their stock last 5 years
I suspect that online passes (for single player and multiplayer games) will be the norm for used games on both the PS4 and the 720 next gen.
You're right about the lead-free solder but it was because the EU banned it

The PS3 had a cooling system that was significantly more robust than the 360's. The PS3 was also a good deal larger to accommodate that cooling system.
2 things:
1. Both the 360 and PS3 were severely supply constrained, something the WiiU doesn't suffer from.
2. VGChartz lol
It's said every month but you will ignore it; if one full third of 360 sales are replacements for RROD then the software attach rate must be through the roof (I think it's about 8 or so right now, about the same as the PS3). Unless you think that people buy all new games when they get a replacement systems.
Never has a user name been more appropriate
Jeff, regarding price cuts I was speaking of long term, permanent ones. Black Friday deals and the like don't really count.
I don't think the 360 has had a real price drop in three or four years. And there's plenty of PS3 advertising out there, marketing is no excuse.
Now the Vita on the other hand, that thing is terribly marketed. It's also a product whose time has passed. Sure, you'll get an enthusiast market but Vita will never hit mainstream. What that does for software support remains to be seen. Too bad because it's impressive tech.
Lots of bitterness in here, typical NPD. Cracks me up everytime.
Sony won't release their PS3 numbers
Amazing this thing still sells.
Sure, why not?
